paint nothing…

One fine spring evening, sitting in my college library, I gathered myself to read “Detective Marketing”. The weather was a bit cold and the smooth breeze through windows was making the ambience very pleasant. I continued my reading for about one hour. It was a damn good book, and very thought provoking too. So I felt bit tired and wanted to relax. I needed a little change; I wanted to think about something else. A stream of thoughts went through my mind: my absurd dreams (unfulfilled and otherwise), my religion, my country, movies made on history of Hindustan and Hinduism and on and on. Of a sudden a dreadful cry struck on my ears. It was a cry of those helpless people which I had seen in those movies and the frightful stories of the British and Mughal times. It echoed in my mind and created an inharmonious effect. The terrible pictures flashed in front of my eyes. My entire body and mind was filled with aggression. Suddenly I cried out in despair, “My religion is the greatest religion, my country is the noblest country in the world. I am proud to be a Hindu and I am proud to be a Hindustani. God will never have mercy on you-you bastards!”

Not even had a second passed that I heard someone laughing at me. His eyes were filled with pity for me. I stared at him in anger. He was laughing hysterically. I couldn’t make out what was so funny. I was about to shout at him, he smiled at me and said, “Hey! You said something quite interesting. I can see your affection towards for your country and religion. But could you please reason out your feelings for your religion and country?”

I never expected the question at that moment; I simply went blank. A few seconds later I gained consciousness. I fumbled and blurted, “We… we we….are known for our resistance. We are kind hearted. We are real human beings. Though the British and Islamic Kings ruled us for centuries, tortured, humiliated, exploited us for centuries, we have always walked in the path of non-violence and and and ….”

He suddenly sprang up to his feet and roared:

“and you bastards are cowards. You have always been in the habit of accepting slavery and you are the bloody half-wits the world has given birth to.”

I was staring at him like a fool, mouth wide open. He continued,

“You people have always cried that they ruled you, tortured you, exploited you, humiliated you etc etc. If you look at the other side, you will realize that it was you who let them do this to you. How could one rule over you, till you allow yourself to be their slave? How could one torture you, if you didn’t permit them to? How could one exploit you, till you let yourself being used? All the good things were made and built in Hindustan by these rulers and good things came out after churning a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Whatever you have and are proud of, were their initiation and underpinning. Instead of appreciating them, you are looking at their flaws?”

“What bulshit”..I moved my face to other side,

He sat closely to me and continued, “List out all the things you have done for yourself, can you?? Traditions, some blind beliefs…pieces like shit? Even the soul of your religion got purified during the time of the British and up to some extent by them only. The truth is that, you never loved your own people and God. You did not spare your God himself. You divided Him into 33 crore entities and in the name of those very entities you divided your people. Sigh…Ramayan, Mahabharat, the Bhagwat Geeta…these are your holy books, right? Has anyone realized what do those books really have to say? Have you ever realized the nicest things written in those books? Tell me, how many times you have seen those books? Do you have any understanding of your own culture? Do you respect your own culture in the true sense? The answer is a simple “NO”. And you imbeciles claim you are the best in the world, you are kind hearted…Hell! What the hell are you going to do with your kindheartedness? I say you are cowards. You could never be masters. You always preferred to be a slave, always took the easy way out.”

My mind and body were filled with shame. I realized what he had said. But who was he? I tried to touch him. But I couldn’t. At last I understood and realized, the man who showed me the dark and hard face of truth was non-other than my own shadow, my own soul. I am thankful to my inner self for making me see the world as it is and not as I see it.

You might not agree with my views on politics and religion. But the point I am trying to make here is “to see the world as it is and being unbiased, as biasness will always restrict our thoughts and imagination”.

Godfather

main.jpg

I have just finished reading the book “The Godfather”. Don’t worry, I am not going to narrate the story or going to tell you about the greatness of this book. I believe we all know about “The Godfather”. The essence of this post is, well, it may seem a little weird - “DON GANDHI OR MAHATMA CORLEONE???” Nope, I am not going to criticize Mr M. K. Gandhi, no, that is not my purpose, at least right now.

As soon as I finished the book I started analysing the traits, character and the leadership qualities of Mr. Vito Andolini Corleone, whom we know as The Godfather. On of a sudden, a thought popped up in my mind which I have penned down here. It was a comparison of Mr. Corleone with Mr. Gandhi, father of our nation.

(i) Both of them were those rarities; who had refused to accept the rule of the organized society, men who refused to the dominion of other men. There was no force, no mortal man who could bend them their wills unless they wished it. They both were men who guarded their free will with wiles and murder. Their wills could be subverted only by death or the utmost reasonableness.

(ii) Both of them had one goal which arose from contempt for any authority and dictatorship, hatred for any man who exploited the law of silence. Mr. Corleone sprang upto fight against the rules that had crushed the country and its people for centuries. So as Mr. Gandhi did against the British rulers. Both of them chose peaceful ways, but there were loss of countless human lives, some way or the other, which unwantingly both of the leaders had to bear.

(iii) Both of them served the purpose of their own life peacefully. They ruled as informal leaders over millions and billions. Both of them were powerful speakers. Words were the only weapon they were armed with. Their speeches were as subtle and discreet as they could be.

(iv) Mr. Gandhi was a freedom fighter for our nation who worshiped non-violence to maintain a peaceful operation towards the goal. Mr. Corleone, the most powerful underworld mafia at his time handled all his operations and was able to maintain peace in underworld so that the common man lived in peace. Both of them never let anyone exploit the innocent.

(v) Rules of dominant society condemned them to a life not suitable to a man like them. They were the men of extraordinary force and character. There were hurdles, there were conflicts, but nothing could stop them.

There are no difference between these two rebels. But we see both in different perspectives, stamped in two different designations - Mr. Corleone as DON and Mr. Gandhi as Mahatma. So can I conclude that there is no difference between the words DON and MAHATMA against all dictionaries?

So Don Gandhi or Mahatma Corleone???
Perhaps both were Godfathers to many…

Take a ride in this boat

446316577_0d009cef8f.jpg

I believe the title and the picture gives you an idea of the theme of this post..so let me get you straight to the topic. Yeah its bit long, But it is very necessary for you to read. My roommate Pranshu always says “There are so many simple things around us, But its need a genius to understand their simplicity”. So here are some simple things. Am I talking to a genius?

Movie…

Don’t you think movies like No Smoking, Hazaron Khwaishen Aishi, 1971, Dor, Water, Iqbal, Pather Panchali etc should not be made in India. Anurag Kahyap, Amrit Sagar, Satyajit Ray, Sudhir Mishra, Deepa Mehta etc should be stopped from making movies. These are the real fools, aren’t they?

Why don’t they understand that there is no audience for their work, in India, the audience which actually has the intelligence to understand movies. Why don’t they understand that People like “NAUTANKI” here.
Let me give you an example. Which movie has become blockbuster hit in this year…’Om Shanti Om’. If you haven’t watched the movie, please go and watch. I can assure you, You won’t find a Nautanki bigger than this. Bloody hell!! You will be pissed off. For God’s sake, please understand filmmakers like Farah Khan, David Dhawan are repeatedly questioning the intelligence of the audience. But there is no point in blaming them. It is you for whom they are making movies. What happened to your taste? I have mentioned the names of some movies. Please watch those once and try to understand the great efforts made behind those. See the script, the story line, the acting, the direction, the background colour, the theme…I won’t be amazed, if you say “This movie is GREAT” after watching those.

Music….

Haahahaha…I have heard most of the people claiming they have an amazing taste in Indian music. But what and whom do they listen to… (Have a good Laugh!) They listen to Himesh Reshamiya, Sonu Nigam and and (please hold your laughter for a moment)-remixes. And when they listen to oldies they feel like taking a nap. Fuck You; If you don’t know how to respect Indian Music, just stay away from it.

I know, I have become very harsh but I am really amazed at the kind of taste of music, people have in our country. If you really like music, see the emotion of singer involved in the song (of course according to the situation), the lyrics, the instruments played…Here are some important names related to indian music industry..Singers- Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeskar, Kumar Sanu, Suresh wadekar, KK, Kavita Krishnamurty, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ghulam Ali, Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udash, Roop Kumar Rathod, Rabbi Shergill. Lyricists: Gulzar, Prasoon Joshi -Listen to E.g. Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, No Smoking, Guru(Mayya mayya)
Believe me all the names I have mentioned right above are pearls of Indian Music, pearls which are invaluable. Their names should be flagged above all things.

Isn’t it?

Indian music and culture are the only things upon which an Indian can proud of. Because it is our own creation. I just want you to help these people keeping that creation alive. By encouraging them. Know their greatness.
I became very depressed when i read an article some days before- It was an interview of KK. It says, he had to walk with the recent trendz of remixes. He was recognized by people for the song “AJAB Si of Om shanti Om” (Believe me it was the worst of the best songs he has sung). Some one has written a comment to that article even (who is this KK, is he Kailash Kher?). People even don’t know him. Just Listen to “Tadap Tadap of Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam, Title song of Deewangee, Aashayen of Iqbal, Alvida of Metro, Tu hi meri sab hai of Gangstar and many more are there and let me know if I am wrong.

The same thing happens with movies too. Look at Aamir Khan. He chooses movies as per the script. He refused 35 crores to ADLABS only because they didnt have a script. Movie makers also gradually stopped making movies of good scripts. only because people don’t like those. I ask “You are a part of educated mass of India. Wht do you look for in movies and music? What is the basis of your selection? is it only entertainment and nothing else???

Connect-Quotes

Quotes…who are the authors? People like you and me!!! The only difference between us and them is they could draw their experience into a sentence. Whether understand these or not, one finds them beautiful. Reading quotes has been a passion since my childhood. I have always tried to connect every mode of my life with the quotes and always try to draw my experiences in form of quotes; you know, these are easy to remember…My memory power is just 1GB, so trying to shorten things as much as possible :)

I used to read from Times Of India(Front page) and later i came to know abt a site- http://www.thinkexist.com/

Presentation

Presentation is the process of presenting the content of a topic to an audience. But while presenting it’s not only the content but the style, the flow also matters a lot. But the most important thing would be ‘to hold the interest of listeners’ through out the presentation. But how many people should present on a topic? 1? 2? 3? Or more? Let’s see!!!

A group was presenting on a retail store. It was a retail management lecture. A lady started with a beautiful introduction of the retail store. She went on presenting around 10-12 slides. Then she passed on to a guy to present rest of the slides. No doubt the guy was also equally competent. But I lost my interest as the second presenter started. He has a different style of presenting. Both of them have their own way of presenting. My mind got use to with the lady’s presenting style. But a sudden change in the style of presenting broke down my interest.

presentation12.jpg

My View

I think there should be just one presenter who should present the whole topic. Even if the content is boring, the style of the one presenter holds the attention of the audience for a long time. Ofcourse I am assuming the presentation will be of half an hour at max.

I discussed the same thing with one of my friend Nikhil. He said, “The presentation is a team effort and it should be presented content wise. Like: a guy who is good at finance part, he should present that part of the topic; a guy who is creative should take the introduction part and so on”.
But I am saying about the STYLE of presenting the content.

The FIRST PRIORITY should not be the content. Because the Ultimate goal of every presentation is “your stuff to get heard, understood and convinced”.

What do you say, guys?

LOLzzz

These are the two most interesting stories I have ever heard in my life.

1. Rajdhani Express, Mumbai to Delhi; 60 Britishers in one bogey. Sitting silently. Everyone was with their own works. After about an hour a kind of noise broke down the silence. It was coming from the bogey next to them. A few of them went to have a look and found it to be full of Indians. They asked the T.T.E. to get them to shut up. The T.T.E. told them “They are Indians. In India people love to make social bonds even with a stranger. Here people live for each other. It is a country of dedication, love, and brotherhood”.

2. A conversation between fisher man and his son

Son: Tomorrow we are going to earn a hell lot of money
Father: yeah, we have a basketful of crabs today
Son: look father! These Crabs are very active. They are playing
Father: hahaha!! My dear son, they are not playing. Some are trying to come out of the basket and the others are pulling them down. These are Indian origin.

SO……

Stories are made By the Indians, For the Indians. So contradicting stories!!! isn’t it something to Laugh Out Loud.
Probably, the biggest problem we are facing is “Identity Crisis”.

“We are; Indifferent to Sunrise, Hate the Noon Sun, Enjoy the Sunset”

lage raho munna bhai

“Lage Raho Munna Bhai” hmmm Gandhigiri…

post1.jpg

Even if Sanjay Dutt is my most favourite actor, I never wanted to watch this movie for the only reason: “I hate Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi the most”. I can never accept him neither as Mahatma nor as father of our nation. However, I don’t want to discuss or argue about this with anyone. I know even if you don’t like him you people can neither accept nor digest the reasons for which I hate him.

One evening I had nothing to do and no source of entertainment and the only movie coming on the television was this. Even if it was really very difficult to sit for two and half hours watching that movie, just for sake to come out of the stress I watched this movie, probably a big achievement. Yes, that was really a big achievement. All of a sudden my eyes get caught to something which I never imagined. I became a fan of Raj Kumar Hirani.

1. If you can recall the scene “when Munna Bhai was reading the books in the library for continuously three days”. It showed the positive side of a gangster. Not “Love Ke Liye Sala Kuch Bhi Karega” but the determination power of any Gangster. Will power and strong determination are the only two things which are required for doing anything. It was basically a message for the students.

2. The second scene is “when Munna was proved mad”. Tell me one thing, was that scene really necessary? Yes, you can say that that scene held the flow of the movie. But some other better scene could be there. But that sequence was chosen, why?
Do you remember, what were the side effects of Shaktimaan? Yes, same thing would have happened here also. No wonder, some people would have tried the same way of reading just to meet M. K. Gandhi. Some people would have started making people fool about Gandhis’s existence. It would have been disastrous. The Director and the Story Writer were well aware of the fact that “Superstitions enter into the mind faster than a bullet fired from a gun”.

No doubt this movie is a great mixture of “Humor and Sentiments” and probably the second big hit in Bollywood as a sequel after Krrish. But I really appreciate the “Film maker” for these two scenes.

Hey, I never mentioned anywhere that I follow that bastard’s ideologies…

what say-2

I believe you have read my previous article in this blog. But I got only four comments yaar. If at all you don’t like that, do write my mistakes. Or If you don’t like my name or face….I can’t help. Hahahaa…Jokes apart, here is a summary of a very old but very nice article of Mr Swaminathan (Swaminomics). But I want to warn you that, this article of Mr Swaminathan is a mixture of Gandhigiri and his economics brain.

Bihar is by far the best place in India to grow cane, a water-intensive crop. Bihar has fertile land, heavy rainfall and a high water table that can provide cheap, assured irrigation. Bihar should become the sugar-cane capital of India, producing millions of tones of ethanol. Also Cane is a very profitable crop for farmers, requiring little care and yielding high returns. After cutting, cane grows again, and can be harvested four times before requiring replanting. Cane has made western U.P. prosperous, and could make Bihar rich too.

Bihar, a state which was India’s industrial heartland in the 1950s, boasting the giant Tata complex at Jamshedpur and Dalmia-Jain complex at Rohtas. Bihar enjoyed massive public sector investment (Bokaro steel, Barauni refinery, Sindri and Barauni fertilizer plants, Heavy Engineering Corporation, Mining and Allied Machinery Corporation, coal mines). But Now Bihar is among the poorest, most misgoverned states. More Plan funds or public sector projects are not remedies. No business man wants to invest in Bihar because of the mafia extortion and kidnapping threats. Nothing can be done in against of that. Reason…. Everyone knows, Deplorable governance, Weak institutions and Criminal galore in state legislature & cabinet.

Mr. Swami Nathan suggests…”To make a legitimate business more politically and financially rewarding for the mafia than extortion.”

With oil at $ 70/barrel, ethanol is a cheap substitute for petrol and diesel. Up to 15% ethanol can be mixed with these fuels. Brazil has pioneered vehicles running on pure ethanol, which today costs half as much as petrol. Ethanol is produced in India from molasses, a by-product of sugar. In Brazil, ethanol is also produced directly from sugar cane juice: that, at today’s prices, is more profitable than the sugar-molasses-ethanol route.

But most sugar mills in Bihar are closed. Business conditions have long always been abysmal. Bihari farmers have stopped growing cane because mills lack the money to pay. No business tycoon is ready to fund on mills in a crime-ridden state even though it is a profitable business.

So, who will run ethanol mills successfully in Bihar? Only the mafia can. But first, they must be convinced that they can get more money and votes from ethanol than extortion. The mafia alone can enforce rules, so let them enforce rules for growing cane and converting it to ethanol. Let the robber barons become sugar barons, or ethanol barons. They will do so only if ethanol yields sinful profits. That, happily, seems to be the case with oil at $ 70/barrel. The political dividends look good too. Sugar cane benefits farmers and wins votes.

Isn’t it fantastic idea? How different he thinks. Isn’t it guys? After all he is Mr. Swaminathan, the great ecnomist.

what say?-1

whtsay2.jpg

Hey, Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is the bright future of India. Can the following idea be a way to reach there?????????????

I was fascinated by an article “ONE HUGE SEZ” that was in Times Of India’s editorial page. The article says: “…Instead of the special economic zones (SEZs) which are going to be established in India, let us vote to declare the entire nation of India an SEZ: the biggest of its kind in the whole world. First, instead of special customs exemptions for SEZ clients, let the customs department be unilaterally abolished: free trade. Today, Arunachal and Sikkim are tentatively opening trade along their land borders with China. With unilateral free trade, the twin coastlines of India will explode as economic engines. Landlocked cities like Delhi and Bangalore will decline. The entire nation will be a duty-free shopping area. Every shop, even the paanbidi shop, will be a duty-free shop.

Second, as with SEZs, a 15-year tax holiday should be declared for the whole of India, so that all the people can accumulate capital. The primary task of the government in this huge, capitalistic SEZ called India would be to uphold the law; that is, to go after the crooks, murderers, rapists and other ‘outlaws’, leaving all ‘win-win’ traders free, which includes money changers, ganja dealers, bookies, hookers and, most definitely, bar dancers. This will require a small police force under the civic control of the mayors of each Indian city and town: there will now be thousands of them, competing for citizens. Many ‘little leviathans’ instead of this one, big, ugly one. The government should also fund public highways, urban streets and rural roads throughout the entire length and breadth of this huge SEZ as ‘public goods’: that is, ‘collective property’ that all the people can freely use.”

1. To fund roads, police and defense for 15 years, the duration of the tax holiday, the government should privatize each and every asset it owns, including the Railways. We will have liberty, prosperity, civic order, and ‘public goods’ instead of ‘public sector’ (another ‘special interest’) and politics will be compressed to a vanishing point….”
with this i suggest…

2.Every small or big company will invest 10 per cent of their profit in building the infrastructure of any under developed rural area and 5 percent to government for the reserves so that government can provide subsidies. Due to the tax holiday a lot number of companies will come India to invest. So 15 percent profit of each company will mount up trillion of rupees. And I think 15 percent and free trade in exchange of the taxes and many other policies is really a very good deal.

If you see any loop-hole in this idea and if you can suggest some other ideas as well..please feel free to write here.

An Unanswered Question

Some days ago we got an assignment “To write about a thing you wish to have in the future and what is the process you will follow while purchasing the product”. The assignment was submitted in the next lecture as usual by working in the last minute as most MBA guys do. But one question remained in my mind and that is…

“What is that thing (Tangible) I wish to have in the future”, lolzzzzzzzz, I am still confused!

lb0606-001.jpg

I thought a lot about that. Every time I came out with the common answers i.e. a nice luxury car or a bike or a bungalow. But the answers were not satisfactory. Because whenever I cross questioned my self, my mind went blank. Till now I couldn’t find any answer.

I asked many people about what is that thing they wish to have? The first thing that came into their mind is……… Can you imagine? Yes, the same!!! A nice car or bike or a bungalow…

So I ask you, is a car or a bike or a bungalow so big things, one would wish to have them? Assuming, a car may not be a great thing for higher middle class or high class people. So what would these High Class people desire to have in future, a helicopter! Or a plane! Or an Island!

This question may seem funny to most of us. But ask yourself once, what is that thing you wish to have 10 or 15 years down the line and try to get an honest answer. Please remember “A TANGIBLE thing Not any Experience or Intangible thing and your wish should not be a Fictitious thing.

One more task for you,

Try to be a bit spontaneous and write the first thing that comes into your mind, and not wonder about it and then write. So think about it and write it down quickly without giving a second thought, let’s see how true you are to yourself.

(If you have any problem in writing your wish here, write in a fictitious name. but plz write the honest answer)
